California Dreaming: For the Best Cali Burrito in Columbus, OH

I’m convinced that the Red Hot Chili Peppers were secretly singing about the deliciousness that is a Cali Burrito (insert drooling emoji here).

The sheer size and weight of this burrito is like holding a small baby in your hands.

Wrapped in a warm blanket-like tortilla shell is cheesy, meaty, and potato-ey goodness.

I once lived in California, Southern Cali to be exact, and my absolute favorite spot was Senior Pancho’s in Oceanside, CA.

It is best when a California Burrito is not stuffed with lettuce, tomatoes, and other “fluff” but is stuffed with fries, meat, cheese, and sour cream. My personal favorite is drizzling salsa verde before each bite (or red, for some spice).

Small cup of red salsa.

Naturally, you want what you can’t have, so this massive burrito was on my mind.

Have no fear, I found it!

Victor’s Tacos Shop

Scattered throughout Ohio, including Dayton, Springfield, Marion, and Columbus, Victor’s Tacos is the best place for a California urrito.

They serve their burritos… well, and everything else on their menu, generously and fresh.

Large portions and classic Mexican flavors make this a go-to spot in Ohio.

Crispy taco rolls, huge taco salads in a fried tortilla shell, street tacos, combo plates, and breakfast are some of the things they have to offer.

They have a large menu to select from with options for everyone. My kiddos’ favorite (and mine, when they don’t finish it) is the ham and cheese quesadilla.

Not saying it’s a great option when hunger strikes from a night out or one too many drinks… but their late-night hours might just come in handy…

With most locations open late from 10 PM to 12 AM and as early as 8 or 9 AM, Victor’s Taco Shop can serve anytime of the day.

Please note that if you have kids and/or are looking for a sit-down place, review their locations, as they don’t always have somewhere to sit.

My family likes to turn it into a “fun” outdoor eating experience by eating in the bed of our truck… kids enjoy it, at least.

This might not be ideal for everyone, but I do find that when we take the order to-go, it holds up well on the drive home and tastes just as good… Maybe even better in my sweatpants.

Check out any of their locations and let us know what you think! I’d love to hear your favorite!
